About the event
This is a 3 part training: A live webex will be offered on March 20th, 2024, from 12:15pm-12:45pm. You will be introduced to the Abilities Care Approach. Self Study - Following the live webex you will be assigned 4 learning modules that can be accessed through the LMS. This will need to be completed prior to the live in person course on April 13th. This are done at your own pase through self-study.
On April 13th you will attend the in person course: During this course, participants will engage in small group activities, discussion, lecture, and case studies to examine the impact of neurocognitive impairments on the rehabilitation process and daily functioning of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Participants will identify the remaining abilities and challenges of persons in all stages of dementia and identify effective stage-specific intervention approaches. Participants will learn effective techniques for managing the behavioral and communication challenges common to each stage of dementia.
