About the event


Dementia Deep Dive is a 4.5-hour, evidence-based training designed for skilled nursing and rehabilitation professionals supporting individuals living with dementia. This course provides a practical framework for understanding dementia types, stages, and cognitive changes, while equipping participants with actionable strategies to reduce resistance in care and improve daily interactions. Through real-world examples, communication tools, and person-centered environmental adaptations, attendees will learn how to promote safety, dignity, and quality of life for people with dementia across the continuum of care. The training emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and immediate clinical application in long-term care settings.


An additional 1.5 hours of course instruction for Speech-Language Pathologists will highlight the SLP’s unique responsibility in supporting communication, cognition, and swallowing across daily life. Participants will explore evidence-based interventions that promote meaningful connection, safety, and dignity for people living with dementia, with strategies that can be applied to a wide range of clinical challenges.
