Introduction to Wound Management - San Diego CA

This introductory wound care course is designed to equip physical therapists working in a skilled nursing facility with up to date knowledge and skills in wound management. In the first part of the course, participants will learn the basics about wound healing physiology, identification of wound characteristics, dressings selection to promote wound healing and general skin care considerations. The second part of the class will focus on how to assess and treat the five most common types of wounds, manage edema, and understand the benefits of exercise on wound healing. Through interactive education, case studies, and hands-on assessment, participants will gain the evidence based knowledge needed to manage wounds and general skin conditions.
