About the event
The workshop will cover the basic prinsiples and clinical utility of Respiratory Muscle Strength Training (RMST). It will include information on its theoretical underpinnings, report on outcome data, and present treatment approaches for patient groups using both inspiratory and expiratory training devices. Dr. Sapienza brings pragmatic information that is informative and interesting to clinicians worldwide.
Conventional means of addressing respiratory swallow and cough impairment will be reviewed prior to an in-depth review of emerging research supporting respiratory muscle strength training procedures in patient groups. Benefits, limitations, clinical trial designs, and clinical applications of strength training paradigms will also be presented.
