Course Description:
This course is appropriate for beginners, and for those wanting to refresh their knowledge in the wound care space. For those that are beginners, this course will help prepare you on effective methods for wound care, and to begin deciding how to implement wound care in your specific clinical setting. Wound care is not just dressing changes, but rather an interdisciplinary intervention and method to allow for optimal healing. This course will address roles of therapy professionals, and how they will work along with nursing professionals. You will leave this course proficient in documenting wounds/wound care, and knowing what wound interventions can be utilized to heal chronic wounds. Specific proficiencies in sharps, closed pulse irrigation, and low freq ultrasound mist, will not be completed at this course, and can be setup for sites as needed.
