With confidence, we can say our teams dignify post-acute and long-term care in the eyes of the world daily. Passionate clinicians volunteering in the community represent this mission without boundaries. Working together with Ashley Keenan, Therapy Talent Acquisition Resource; Joey David, PTA, DOR; and Neena Singh, PT, CEEAA at Park Manor Bee Cave organized an opportunity to present to local South University PTA students. As an LSVT certified therapist, Neena discussed Parkinson’s disease, the impact of physical therapy on the geriatric population, and finding a career in skilled nursing. Joey, with a background as a travel therapist, conveyed his passion for this setting, thriving as a leader with Ensign-affiliated teams.
Faculty had this to say about the experience: “My students loved the presentation Neena did on PD and BIG therapy, but also having a chat with Joey about working in SNF. I had multiple students tell me how they never thought they would want to work in a SNF, but Joey convinced them they should give it a try, especially with Ensign!”
While leaders often network with students and university partners, Joey and Neena curated an experience for the future clinicians that sparked genuine enthusiasm for both their profession and the skilled nursing setting. By intentionally presenting clinical education, practical application, their passion for the population, and their trust in the next generation, they offered a powerful embodiment of CAPLICO and a powerful stride toward dignifying our work in the eyes of the world.
