Shawnee Post Acute & Rehabilitation Center in Overland Park, Kansas, hosted a two-hour CEU with their neighbor therapy team from Aspen Health and Wellness. The guest speaker was Ryan Morris, DPT, a PT who owns and operates MindBody Physical Therapy and Pain Reprocessing in Mission, Kansas.

Ryan spent time reshaping the way the therapy teams look at, think about, and approach chronic pain in their patients. He highlighted the importance of valuing principles over technique and emphasized the importance of treating the mind and body together for a whole-person care approach to maximize functional outcomes.

To start the training, Ryan shared a quote that made us all self-reflect: “One of the great challenges in this world is knowing enough about a subject to think you're right, but not enough about the subject to know you're wrong.” — Neil deGrasse Tyson

What a great reminder for us all that passion for learning creates opportunities for us to be intentional about learning more about a subject to self-reflect on the ways we may be wrong, while also challenging us to adapt our clinical services to truly dignify the lives within our communities.
